Privacy policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Real Science-4-Kids, operated by Gravitas Publications Inc. ("Real Science-4-Kids," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from rs4k.com (the "Site") or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the "Services"). "You" and "your" means you as a customer, website visitor, parent, educator, or other individual whose information we have collected.
By using or accessing the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site, update the "Last updated" date, and take any other steps required by law.
WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with our Site and Services.
Information you provide directly may include your name, billing and shipping address, email address, and phone number; the items you view, add to your cart, or purchase; and any information you include when you contact customer support. Payment information (such as your card details) is collected and processed by Shopify, our e-commerce platform and payment processor; we do not store your full payment card information. We receive confirmation that an order has been paid.
Information collected automatically. When you use our Site, we and our platform provider (Shopify) collect basic usage information, such as your device and browser type, IP address, and the pages you visit, using cookies necessary to operate the store. On our shopping pages we also use a Google Ads conversion pixel, described under "Advertising" below. We do not track whether you open or click our emails, and we do not use web beacons, software development kits, or third-party tracking libraries.
Information from third parties. We may receive information from companies that support our Site and Services, such as Shopify.
HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
To provide our products and services: to process and fulfill your orders, manage your account, arrange shipping, handle returns and exchanges, and provide customer support. This is how we perform our contract with you.
To communicate with you: to send order and account notifications and, if you have opted in, marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
For advertising measurement: to understand which advertising leads to a purchase (see "Advertising" below).
For security and fraud prevention: to detect and prevent fraudulent or malicious activity.
We do not use children's or students' personal information for marketing or advertising.
ADVERTISING
We use a Google Ads conversion pixel on our shopping and marketing pages, specifically product pages, the cart, checkout, and the confirmation step of a completed purchase, to measure which ads lead to sales. When a purchase is completed, this pixel transmits to Google only three pieces of information: the order value, the currency, and an order number. It does not transmit personally identifying information such as your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address.
This advertising pixel is not used on our student-facing educational pages, including the digital teaching dashboards, digital textbooks, and digital readers. Depending on your state, this type of advertising measurement may be treated as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under applicable law; see "Your U.S. State Privacy Rights" for how to opt out.
HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We are selective about who handles your information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information with advertisers or with affiliates for their own marketing.
We disclose personal information only as needed to run our business, specifically:
Shopify, our e-commerce platform and payment processor. We chose Shopify because it provides enterprise-grade network security and protects customer data with sophisticated technology.
Our third-party fulfillment partner, which picks, packs, and ships orders from our warehouse in Tempe, Arizona. This partner receives only the information necessary to deliver your order, such as your name and shipping address.
When required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale.
In the past 12 months, the only categories of personal information we have disclosed are the contact and order identifiers necessary for Shopify to process payments and for our fulfillment partner to ship your order. We have not disclosed your basic contact details or account information to advertisers or affiliates, and we have not sold personal information.
CHILDREN'S AND STUDENTS' PRIVACY
Real Science-4-Kids creates science curricula for elementary and middle-school learners. Our Services include student-facing educational materials, including digital textbooks, digital readers, and digital teaching dashboards, that are designed to be used by children, including children under the age of 13.
Purchases are made by adults. Orders and accounts are established by a parent or legal guardian (for home use) or by a school, teacher, or educational institution (for classroom use).
Student access. Access to student materials may require login credentials, such as a student email address, provided or arranged by the purchasing parent, guardian, or school. We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide access to the educational materials, and we use it only for that purpose.
Consent (COPPA). For children under 13, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information online from a child, subject to limited exceptions. For home use, the purchasing parent or guardian provides consent and controls the child's access. For classroom use, we rely on the school's authority to consent on behalf of parents for school-authorized educational purposes.
We never advertise to students or sell their information. We do not use children's or students' personal information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertising partners. Our advertising pixel does not run on student-facing pages.
Parental rights. A parent or guardian may ask us to review, delete, or stop further collection of their child's personal information by contacting us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity and relationship to the child first.
SECURITY AND RETENTION
No security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." We host our store on Shopify, which maintains enterprise-grade security to protect customer data. We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, or resolve disputes, and we do not retain children's personal information indefinitely.YOUR U.S. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS (DO NOT SELL OR SHARE)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of "targeted advertising," along with rights to access, delete, correct, and obtain a copy of your personal information. These rights currently apply to residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, and additional states as their laws take effect.
We do not sell anyone's personal information, regardless of age, and we do not transmit personally identifying information to advertising partners. Our only advertising technology is the Google Ads pixel described above, which sends three non-identifying data points about a completed purchase. Depending on your state, this may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising," and you may opt out.
How to opt out. You can opt out at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our website footer. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals; if your browser sends a GPC opt-out signal, we treat it as an opt-out request. These choices are applied automatically through our Shopify platform.
