Most Grade 2 science programs describe forces as pushes and pulls without explaining what a push actually is at the physical level. RS4K goes deeper: forces are atomic interactions — atoms pushing on other atoms through electromagnetic fields. By Grade 2, students already have the atomic vocabulary from Grades K and 1 to understand exactly what forces are doing. The mechanism is correct from the very first lesson.

Where this fits in the RS4K sequence
The Grade 2 Dashboard is the final year of the Atoms First K–2 sequence. Students arrive with two years of atomic foundation from the Grade K and Grade 1 Dashboards. After completing Grade 2, students continue directly into RS4K Book 2, grade 3, or Book 1 if they want to start at the beginning of the Science series.
