Exploring Science

The Exploring Science Series (formerly the Building Block Series) introduces 5 core science subjects (chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and astronomy) to young learners. Concepts are scaffolded with each year building upon the previous year and vocabulary including atoms, molecules, the cell, force, energy, minerals, stars and more are introduced. 

Spiral learning is proven to lead to better long-term mastery of facts and concepts and is effective for all learners, including struggling learners. It is the first research-based recommendation in a practice guide from the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Educational Sciences (Pashler et al., 2007)
